What is the Present Simple Tense?

The present simple tense in English is used to describe actions that are habitual, regular, or facts that are generally true. It is formed with the base form of the verb, with the addition of '-s' or '-es' in the third person singular (he, she, it). It is often used with adverbs of frequency such as 'always', 'often', 'sometimes', 'rarely', and 'never'.

Common Mistakes:

One common mistake is forgetting to add '-s' or '-es' to the verb for third-person singular subjects. For instance, instead of saying "He go to school," it should be "He goes to school." Adverbs of frequency like 'always', 'often', 'sometimes', 'rarely', and 'never' should be placed before the main verb in the sentence. For instance, "She always goes to the gym" (not "She goes always to the gym").
